Sustainability and Impact

Concerns about almost all sustainability challenges are intensifying.  Climate change is perceived as a most pressing issue. We believe the heart of the issue is being addressed, and that experts have reinforced the urgency of the planetary challenges that we face – from climate change to inequality. This offers hope that sustainability is being prioritized.   We see keys in technology and innovation that drive changes to sustainability solutions.

The world is generally in a precarious position when it comes to energy. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has stated that we have until 2030 to take drastic action to mitigate the effects of climate change. In order to meet this target, the International Energy Agency has said that annual clean energy investment worldwide will need to more than triple by 2030 to around $4 trillion.

Partnering with sustainable technical partners to drive initiative and change the landscape of affordable and completely clean energy for the future.

Youth Impact

Education is key to future development from a very wide lens.  The UN focus is on universal primary education and increased broad literacy rates. Our initiative focuses on the development of young communities in certain areas of Sharjah and the UAE, in conjunction with existing youth initiatives to assist them with development.

Partnering with Dubai’s Youth x Hub , Coders HQ, Sharjah’s Technology and Innovation Park and PFI to drive initiatives as a spring-board for the future and a bridge to the real world from education.

Web3.0 AI and New Technology

The UAE is at the forefront of innovation. In May 2022 the UAE announced a Metaverse Strategy which aims to support more than 40,000 jobs by 2030, adding US$4 billion to the national economy in five years.

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will chair the Higher Committee for Future Technology and Digital Economy, which will focus on the digital economy and future technologies, including the metaverse, AI, blockchain, Web3, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), the Internet of Things (IoT), data centres and cloud computing.

Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) is also seeking to attract large technology-driven firms to the UAE.

The Private Office is complementing these national initiatives with Sharjah as a focus, accelerating development of regulation (in line with VARA and VAL’s position on consumer protection), Web3 local-based incubators, accelerators  & developers, “digital twins” and Sharjah as a smart and sustainable city.

Various technology companies, funds and organisations (international and local) partnering with the Office to drive change and push these initiatives forward.

Women in Business

It is a proven fact that empowering women helps with economic growth and sustainable development.  The UN states that ending all discrimination against women is not only a basic human right but crucial for a sustainable future.

Gender equality lies at the heart of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The UNDP Strategy on this is clear and demands structural change and transformation to accelerate the achievement of gender equality:  equal power and representation (which already exists at certain levels in the UAE), economic empowerment, preventing violence (we have seen recent news exacerbating this point), providing better data for policy making and changing social norms.

We partner with multiple women’s organizations, civil societies and other groups who can help up shift these norms and support gender equality including academia, think tanks, public stages and participation in the Private Office initiatives.

Charitable Causes

These are very simple initiatives but at the core remain the greatest challenges facing humanity. The focus is on increasing basic resources and services for those in need, in addition to other sustainable development initiatives

Providing financial support to efforts such as Sharjah Charity House, Stray Dogs Centre and others, we hope to make a real difference.
